5.0 out of 5 starsRomance Convention and Veterans Aid combine for an irresistible story!

September 15, 2017

Format: Kindle Edition

Ridge Romano is in the fight of his life on Capitol Hill. He’s using every resource he has to make sure a bill passes in order to give money and healthcare to veterans. Everyone is depending on him and he has to overcome insurmountable odds. One brief encounter with a beautiful redhead changes everything.

Buffy has left the modelling world behind (as well as her Lana persona) and she’s determined to make her talent/cover model photography studio a hit. She has the contacts and ability to make it a success. All she needs is a face, a male cover model to be more precise, and her company will be a success. She sees Ridge up on stage and knows in her gut he’s the one (in more ways than she can count). She’s got that Calloway curl and that can only mean one thing: love. Will Ridge let go of the past and be her first knight or will she lose him forever?

I loved everything about this book from the chemistry between Ridge and Buffy to the details about veterans to breaking down the barriers about the romance industry. Quinn has a love for the military and it comes across in her writing. This military romance has substance, truth and depth… no fluff here. The romance blossoms between these two in a realistic way and there are certain obstacles they must overcome. Will they? I won’t give it away but I will tell you I was completely satisfied when I read the last words.

If you’re looking for a good romance with dashes of humor, military and living out your dreams, pick up this book! There’s one surprise that will endear you to Buffy, as it did me. Another gem by Livia Quinn!

Favorite Character: Buffy. She’s not what I expected and that made me lover her more. She’s a beautiful retired supermodel yet she’s so down-to-earth. She’s a big family person and she’s striking out on her own. With each obstacle, she keeps the faith and does whatever it takes to see her dream come true. I admire her and I’d love to be friends with her.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from the author in the hopes I’d review it.

Favorite Quote:

Then she watched with an impending sense of doom as her mother put a hand on Ridge’s shoulder and said, “Might as well buy the ring, dear. When a Calloway tells you, you’re the one, it’s like that old saying, “If I tell you the moon is made of green cheese, get your crackers.” She nodded, yep.

My Rating: 5 stars

5.0 out of 5 starsa must read

April 4, 2018

Format: Kindle Edition

I have read I think all or just about all of Livia’s books. You can’t help but fall in love with all of the couples. Each book leaves you wanting for more. Livia alway wants to give her readers what they want. The covers are great, when shopping for books if the cover doesn’t grab me I am probably not going to pick it up, try to read it or refer it to someone else. The guys are always sexy looking and the women totally fit with the men. Nothing like a great looking couple! You can see and feel Livia’s love for her characters in the books. If you haven’t read any of her books yet…you are missing out! Buy it now!!

Pleasantly surprised with flair November 6, 2018

This was the first book in the series. I was pleasantly surprised, I didn’t think I would like it.
The story started off with the H getting roped into stripping for a group of authors and fans at a writer’s convention (think comic-con for romance writers). I wasn’t sure how the author could make things work for the couple but she managed it with flair.
I have only read this author’s paranormal novels so this was…Read More

A gripping paranormal romance I couldn’t stop reading! April 19, 2018

It’s almost Halloween and strange things are happening in Destiny. Tempe can’t seem to keep her emotions in check and you better bring your umbrella because that means storms are imminent. River is drinking away at the bar when in walks a gorgeous sword-wielding goddess looking for a dragonhunter. The gloom eating at River’s soul is lifted when Cinder’s around. Could she be the key to his redemption or has his master come calling…Read More

I am not really an advocate of book that continues into the next installment but I am making an exception for this series.

Enjoyable Book !! April 8, 2018

I love all the paranormal characters in this story! The touch of humor was perfect. This is Book 6 and, unfortunately, I did not read the previous five books which may have made this a bit more familiar and easier to get into. However, the story line was good and kept me interested from start to finish. Now I’ll go back and read the other 5 books I missed!

Then half way thru I was flying thru the pages wanting to know what was going to happen next. Was this on purpose? By the end I was captured. Now on to the next book in the series. The book was well written with clear details that allow you to immerse yourself in the story. Well Done I say well done

I received this book as an ARC.

This is my first time reading a book from this author. I know so backwards. I should have started with the first book of the series but I just want to read this.

At first, it was a bit confusing with the changing of characters POV but as I keep reading, it got easier to understand who is talking.
My favorite is Tempe, love her inner monologue.

I received this book as an ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.

It is a very fast-paced read. Never a dull moment constant action. Very entertaining plot twists galore, that keep you guessing.

Characters that were each unique and emotionally charged in their own way, from moody brooding men, sly tricksters of not so human nature, and sarcastic bright females very capable of handling their own battles.

The stakes are mega-high in this paranormal romance! February 29, 2016

I love the Storm Lake West series and was so excited to read this installment. There’s a lot going on and Jack is in over his head. Paramortals are ill and/or dying, big bad supernatural being are coming out of the woodwork and Jack’s thinking it couldn’t get any worse. Wrong! His girlfriend’s estranged mother sweeps into town and the tension goes into overdrive when she “accidentally” makes things worse.

An emotional roller coaster ride… and I didn’t want it to end! February 12, 2016

It’s the night before Chaos (24 hour period where many Paramortals lose their powers and are weakened humans and where the bad/evil paranormal creatures lay waste to Storm Lake and everyone in it) and our gang of Paramortals are starting to act oddly. They’re slowly losing their powers and evil is infiltrating Storm Lake.

Sizzling and intoxicating! I’m addicted to this series! February 12, 2016

Book two picks up from the moment book one ends and I liked that. It’s a continuation of the same story. River is still missing and time is running out. Sheriff Jack just found out who Tempest (and many of her friends/family) is. Whoa, paramortals! Though to be fair, Jack doesn’t have much time to adjust to this news.

“You in or out?” asks Dylan (who changed into a big bear-like creature before Jack’s eyes).

A must read! February 12, 2016

Tempest is one of the best paranormal romance heroines I’ve ever read. She’s funny, sarcastic, hard-working and has the power to wield storms with her fingertips. Trouble seems to follow her around like a dog with a bone and it was borderline hysterical watching her talk her way out of a murder. But more than that, she’s multi-layered. She loves her brother, will do anything to find him and she’s trying not to fall in love with…Read More

Perfect January 13, 2016

This series just keeps getting better. Livia Quinn not only writes about magic but her words are magical. I’ve stopped reading some other authors because their writing has turn to fantasy, and I’ve never been into this type of books. But this series has taken ahold of my interest and I just can not get enough. Looking forward to the next book, I hope it’s out soon.
